Step into the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, as Spencer-Van Etten High School brings to life "a tale as old as time." Enjoy each moment as audiences are transported to a French provincial town. Belle, a smart, beautiful girl with a love for books, lives with her father – an unconventional, absent-minded inventor. When her father fails to return from a trip, Belle rushes off to find him. To her dismay, she discovers that a terrifying Beast holds her father captive in his enchanted castle. Ultimately, Belle trades her freedom for her father’s and the "tale as old as time" begins. Belle wins the attention and admiration of the Beast’s staff – Cogsworth, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Chip and Babette – and ultimately wins the heart of the Beast. How Belle tames the Beast and assists him, and his castle staff, in their transformation to being "Human Again" will enthrall audience’s young and old. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as presented by SVE, brings the entire community together for family theatre as its best! Performance dates for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast are March 18, 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. at the Clyde Spear Auditorium in Spencer-Van Etten High School, Rte. 34 and Dartts Crossroad, Spencer, NY.
