James Campbell of Owego, N.Y. has recently been named to the Fall 2009 academic honors list for having achieved a 3.3 GPA or above at Hilbert College in Hamburg, N.Y. ~ Samantha Watkins, son of Rich Watkins and Rebecca Cain, graduated in 2009 with a bachelor of science degree in environmental biology from Keystone College. Watkins, from Owego, was named Outstanding Baccalaureate Graduate in 2009, and plans to further her education and hopes to enter a Ph.D. program in ecology and evolutionary biology with a focus on ornithology. ~ Vincent Skovira, of Owego, N.Y. was recently named on Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. ~ Michael D. Post of Owego has been placed on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester for his scholarly achievement in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ithaca College. Post was also accepted into the Physical Therapy program. Post is the son of Wendy Post of Owego and David Post of Ovid, N.Y. ~ The following students enrolled at Virginia Tech were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must attempt at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. Those students named are Robert Chandler of Apalachin, N.Y. Chandler is a freshman majoring in general engineering in the College of Engineering. Christian E. Van Brunt of Newark Valley, N.Y. Van Brunt is a junior majoring in hospitality and tourism management in the Pamplin College of Business. Christie A. Testa of Owego, N.Y. Testa is a junior majoring in chemical engineering in the College of Engineering. Jeffrey R. Saucke of Vestal, N.Y. Saucke is a sophomore majoring in general engineering in the College of Engineering. Joseph A. Stirling of Vestal, N.Y. Stirling is a senior majoring in marketing management in the Pamplin College of Business. ~ Monica M. Storms of Owego was named to the Dean's List at Utica College in Utica, NY for the Fall 2009 semester. She is majoring in Mathematics. ~ The following area students have been named to the Cazenovia College Dean’s List for the Fall semester 2009. Names are Sarah Hirko of Newark Valley, N.Y. Hirko is working toward a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design. Hirko is a graduate of Newark Valley High School in Newark Valley, N.Y. Also named is Casey L. Bosley, of Richford, N.Y. Bosley is working toward a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Bosley is a graduate of Newark Valley High School in Newark Valley, N.Y. Students named to the Cazenovia College Dean’s List have achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for all courses attempted, and have earned 12 or more academic credits during the semester. ~ Daniel Paul Schnitzler of Newark Valley, Julie A. Chambers of Nichols, and Linda Ann Persons were recently named to the Dean’s Honors List for their outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2009 semester from the School of Management at Binghamton University, State University of New York. The criteria for the Dean’s Honors list is a minimum grade point average of 3.75. ~ Kate Louise Woodburn of Owego was recently named to the Dean’s List for her outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2009 semester from the College of Community and Public Affairs at Binghamton University, State University of New York. The criteria for the Dean’s List is a minimum grade point average of 3.5. ~ Elyse Colby of Owego, N.Y., daughter of Pamela and Steven Colby, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 academic term at Elmira College. Elyse is majoring in Adolescence Education: Mathematics. ~ Timothy M. Miller of Barton, Garrett D. Lubniewski of Nichols, Stanley Bogumil of Owego, and Zachary D. Mandeville of Owego have been named to the Dean’s List for their outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2009 semester from the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering at Binghamton University, State University of New York. ~ Samantha J. Blazey of Newark Valley, Melissa A. Stanke of Newark Valley, Paul Woods of Newark Valley, Hunter M. Claypatch of Owego, Emily A. Tholen of Owego, Danielle Weinmann of Owego, Brittnie S. Williams of Owego, and Marissa I. Mack of Lockwood have been named on the Dean’s List for their outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2009 semester from Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University, State University of New York. ~ Jennifer M. Jackson of Newark Valley has been placed on the Dean’s List for her outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2009 semester from the Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University, State University of New York. ~ Carolyn R. Orth of Owego has been placed on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester at Clarkson University. Orth is in her senior year in the school of Business and Technology Management. ~ Steven White of Owego has been placed on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester at the State University of New York College at Cortland. White is the son of Larry and Debbie White and is majoring in Elementary Education. ~ Andrea Oddo of Owego was recently named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester at the State University of New York College at Cortland. Oddo is majoring in Childhood Education. To be placed on the President’s List, a student must be full-time and have earned at least an A- in all courses.
