On March 14, at the Candor American Legion over 30 men, women, and children will become a "HERO to a Kid with Cancer." They are becoming this "Hero" because they have decided to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Their fundraiser also comes with the agreement to have their heads shaved in solidarity with kids with cancer. You heard that right! These people will have their heads shaved at an event that has become the world’s largest fundraising event for pediatric cancer research.

One of the participants, six-year old Cadriana Edwards, is going to shave her hair to help raise money for kids with cancer. To view or donate to Cadriana's website go to

www.stbaldricks.org/participants/CadrianaRyLeeEdwards.www.stbaldricks.org – go to "The Kids" at the top of the page and tell your story. Contact one of the people below so we can "honor" your child on our event page.

The Candor American Legion family and the Candor EMS have come together to host the event in Candor. The head shaving will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m. There will also be traditional American/Celtic & original music preformed by Annie Ol’ Thyme, tunes by DJ Remix, food, and raffles. You can also donate by calling (888) 899-BALD (2253). Donations made to the St. Baldrick's Foundation are tax deductible.

The organizers would like to honor all children who are or have suffered cancer. The children may also be grown adults, who are childhood cancer survivors. This event is for you and also in hopes to find a cure so no other child has to go through what you have or are going through. To honor your child, go to
