Spring Fling is looking for entrants

Newark Valley’s 3rd annual Spring Fling will be held on April 10 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Newark Valley Train Depot. Join them for breakfast, Easter Bonnet making, games, animals, an egg hunt and their fabulous Egg Decorating Contest.

All entrants will receive a prize in this "Egg-ceptional" event. The public will select their favorite egg for an "Egg-cellent" People’s Choice Award. Judges will also award "Egg-citing" prizes in the following categories: Peep (age 6 & under), Chick (ages 7 - 11), Pullet / Cockerel (age 11 - 17), Hen / Rooster (adult), and

Coop (group / family).

Also, all children under the age of 17 are invited to enter a colorful drawing of a decorated egg in the "Representational Egg Art" category. There is a limit of one "flat egg" entry per child.

So, crack out your favorite art media such as egg dyes, markers, crayons, stickers, clay, stamps, paper mache, canvas, or whatever else you like. Whip up an egg masterpiece!

In order to be eligible for prizes, decorated eggs must be registered by March 31 with D’Amone Popp at 642-5249.
