Glad to be part of the community!

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank everyone for your outpouring of generosity. My friends and family held a benefit for me, and it was a huge success. The generosity of this community was beyond what I could have imagined or asked for.

From what I understand about 90 percent of the businesses in Owego and surrounding area donated to the benefit, which raised around $6,000. I would like to thank all of them individually, but since that is impossible, I do hope this public thank you will suffice.

A special thank you goes to the Moose Lodge for donating the use of the Lodge, and to Jeff and his wife for their time, patience, as well as other donations to the benefit.

Another special thank you goes out to Rob and Jim for cooking chicken in the snow (there is a first time for everything). I have heard many good comments on the quality of the chicken, and I, myself, thought it was outstanding.

Also, I need to thank Joanne, Joanne, and Charlotte for spending all those hours in the kitchen and getting everyone fed. I appreciate your willingness to help me out.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who worked the benefit in any way. I need to especially mention my Girl Scout sisters, it was good to see so many of you at the benefit, and I would like to specially thank Tioga Center Service Unit for working all day long, and going above and beyond the call of duty.

I am glad I live in this community, I always liked living here, and now the people have provided me with another reason to love Tioga County.

Thank you to everyone for everything, I don’t know what else to say. I am overwhelmed and speechless by everything that was done for me.
