The Frontier Wisdom workshop series, offered by NV Historical Society, is scheduled to begin. The workshops are open to all ages 10 and up, and provide participants with skills necessary for every day life in the period 1750 to 1850. Construction of the Bement Billings farmstead was begun in the late 1700’s. This living history series seeks to involve youth and adult in the skills leading to the production of useful household accoutrements. The schedule for 2010 is as follows: March 13 will feature Soap Making, April 10 and 11 will feature Candle and Lantern Making, and April 24 will feature Cheese Making. There is a small fee for each workshop. Some scholarships for youth are available. All participants must pre-register with Jerry Rhodes at geraldrhodes@gmail.com, or by calling 687-2271.
