Calling all voters in Berkshire!

Dear Editor, Yet again it looks as if we will have to vote on another new fire station. What has changed since the last vote? Did someone come to their senses or are we going to have to pay and pay for something to be done with a defunct building. Everyone that has been to a function at the station knows it needed to be replaced. Perhaps that is what is wrong with this picture, the fire commissioners have not been in the building during a deluge. I know of one for certain that has and I wonder what he is thinking. Perhaps it is time to seek new public servants that have an eye to the future thus saving the residents money in the long run. These present souls will cost us not only the money to build this project but another architect to see it through, not to mention attorney’s fees. When will it end? I do not know why the last one went with the "NO" votes. There were plenty of meetings and the public sure knew about it. Perhaps it is the constant battling between the in town crowd that have detracted from our sight, or is it something else. I personally will be voting no for a pole barn that seems to be already given to a company without an open bid. I wonder if anyone local could have come up with a better quote. So I will see you at the polls not six months after a vote was cast. I for one am a bit upset with the way the fire department is going not to mention the fire commissioners from Berkshire. Sincerely, Lawrence Alger Berkshire, N.Y.
