Yost charged with Robbery following altercation                                      Members of the Owego Police Department reported on Monday the arrest of 23-year old Rodney J. Yost Jr. of Candor, following a report of a robbery that allegedly took place at an Owego business on Jan. 20.

 

According to reports, the police responded to a report that a 19-year old Owego man reportedly was followed to an Owego business and was confronted by two males. While one male struck the victim in the face, the second demanded money and anything of value.

 

Shortly after the incident, officers located Yost hiding in a McMaster Street apartment. After a brief altercation with police, Yost was taken into custody.

 

Yost is charged with Robbery in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony; Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor; and Harassment in the 2nd Degree.

 

Yost was arraigned in the Village of Owego Court and remanded to Tioga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. Further arrests in connection with the incident are expected.

 

Owego Police were assisted by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department.
