{"id":97471,"date":"2023-08-23T07:45:38","date_gmt":"2023-08-23T11:45:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/?p=97471"},"modified":"2023-08-23T07:45:38","modified_gmt":"2023-08-23T11:45:38","slug":"community-forum-to-address-questions-about-alzheimers-disease-and-dementia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/2023\/08\/23\/community-forum-to-address-questions-about-alzheimers-disease-and-dementia\/","title":{"rendered":"Community forum to address questions about Alzheimer\u2019s disease and dementia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The Central New York Chapter of the Alzheimer\u2019s Association will host a community forum in Tioga County from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Aug. 23 so residents can learn more about Alzheimer\u2019s disease and dementia, share their experiences, and learn what support is available to them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Alzheimer\u2019s Community Forum is presented in partnership with Tioga Opportunities and will take place at the community action agency\u2019s office, located at 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd. in Owego.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe want to give residents of Tioga County the opportunity to tell us their concerns and&nbsp;share their thoughts about how the Alzheimer&#8217;s Association can better serve them,&nbsp;either as people living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer\u2019s disease or dementia,\u201d&nbsp;says Jessica DesRosiers, senior program director for the Central New York Chapter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition to a community-focused listening session, participants can learn more about the free resources offered by the Alzheimer\u2019s Association including support groups, educational programs, safety services, and care consultations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The event is free and open to the public.
