Rural Health Network of SCNY, Inc. recently announced their second annual virtual fundraising event, \u201cOn the Hunt for Good Health.\u201d Participants can enjoy activity challenges that align with our three major areas of focus: transportation, food systems, and well-being. <\/span><\/p>\n

In a press release, a representative explained that the event highlights their mission to advance the health and well-being of rural people and communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want folks to have fun with this fundraiser,\u201d said Mark Bordeau, executive director of Rural Health Network of SCNY. <\/span><\/p>\n

He added, \u201cPeople can make their own two-week marathon simply by walking, running, or biking for their own good health and on behalf of their friends and family.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Other examples of ways to participate would be to visit local farmers markets, produce stands, and other small purveyors. Finally, you can phone friends, visit shut-ins, or give yourself a meditation break for better mental health. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour participation and donation all add up to improve community health and support our fundraiser,\u201d said Bordeau. <\/p>\n

The active phase of the event runs Sept. 16 to Oct. 2. Participants can choose from activities on the website or make up their own. Join any time before the Sept. 16. Organizations, teams, or individuals can make a gift via the event website, even if they don\u2019t\u2019 have time to participate in the challenge activities. Support from sponsors and early-bird participants have the fundraiser already at 35% of its goal. All registrations and donations benefit the programs and services of Rural Health Network of SCNY.<\/p>\n

Major sponsors include Ascension Lourdes and Riger Marketing Communications, Gold Sponsors; and Mirabito and Visions Federal Credit Union, Silver Sponsors.<\/p>\n
