{"id":78647,"date":"2020-04-11T06:30:29","date_gmt":"2020-04-11T10:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/?p=78647"},"modified":"2020-04-11T06:30:35","modified_gmt":"2020-04-11T10:30:35","slug":"tioga-united-way-establishes-covid-19-relief-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/2020\/04\/11\/tioga-united-way-establishes-covid-19-relief-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Tioga United Way establishes COVID-19 Relief Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last week, the Director of the Tioga United Way, Merideth Sagor, announced Tioga United Way\u2019s COVID-19 Relief Fund.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the release, Sagor stated, \u201cOur community is facing unprecedented challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.&nbsp;The health and safety of our staff, agencies and volunteers are our top priority while we continue to support those in need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sagor added, \u201cLocal human service agencies are still assessing the needs of the individuals and families that they serve. Community members like you provide these agencies with the financial means necessary to adapt to our continuously changing landscape.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sagor is asking the community to consider supporting COVID-19 Relief Efforts in Tioga County by donating through the United Way at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tiogaunitedway.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"www.tiogaunitedway.com (opens in a new tab)\">www.tiogaunitedway.com<\/a>. Sagor added that 100 percent of the funds raised would go towards their 31 partner agencies, helping with health, education, food insecurities and financial stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for any future events, Tioga United Way is continuing to assess the situation and make informed decisions.
