The threat of storms on Halloween evening didn\u2019t stop the trick-or-treaters from heading out into the night; but by 8 p.m., torrential rains put a fast stop to traditional trick-or-treating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the forecasts for heavy rain and wind arriving earlier in the week, several municipalities opted to move trick-or-treating to Wednesday evening when the weather was warm and much drier; such as the Valley area of New York and Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But with the early forecast, the community got creative as well, with many offering indoor events in case the rain arrived early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boys & Girls Club was handing out candy and offered craft, including slime activities for the young guests, all arriving in carefully selected costumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Riverview Nursing Home, the doors were opened for guests to come in and trick-or-treat with the residents of the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several churches were also opening their doors to offer shelter from the storm on this festive evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With trick-or-treating typically running between 6 and 9 p.m., participants, however, had plenty of time to visit the beautifully decorated homes in and around the village to enjoy this fun holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when the heavy rain came, it was time to get indoors. A Flash Flooding Alert arrived shortly after 8 p.m., alerting the community to stay safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
