Nancy Brown entered the winning pie in this year\u2019s pie baking contest at the Tioga County Fair. Here is her recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strawberry\/Blueberry pie<\/strong> – A double piecrust\u00a0recipe by Nancy Brown<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half should be used for the piecrust the other half is to be rolled out and use a star cookie cutter and cut out stars for garnish. Sprinkle a little sugar on the stars before baking. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 cups flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 cup shortening<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 tsp. salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 to 7 tbsp. cold water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preheat oven to 450<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pie filling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 tbsp. graded lemon peel<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1\/4 cup lemon juice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 container (8 oz.) frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whisk the milk, lemon peel and lemon juice together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fold in 1 1\/2 cups of the whipped topping. Fill cooled pastry shell with mixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top the custard with the cleaned, sliced strawberries and the cleaned blueberries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garnish with the remaining whipped topping and pastry stars. Enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
