(Provided photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is last year\u2019s winning recipe for the Zucchini Pie by Joshua Signs of Owego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zucchini Pie<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By Joshua Signs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crumb Mixture<\/strong> (makes 4 cups)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1-cup sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 sticks butter (margarine)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/2 teaspoon of salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mix<\/strong> together until crumbly with a fork or blender.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pat 1\/2 mixture in pan (10-inch pie pan or 9&#215;13 pan)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bake <\/strong>for 10 minutes. Divide the remaining mixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Save 1\/2 cup for filling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rest of mixture add 1 teaspoon Cinnamon and save for topping over filling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Filling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8-cups peeled and corded zucchini divided into small pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add 2\/3 cup lemon juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook until tender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add 1-cup sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/4-teaspoon nutmeg<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/2-teaspoon cinnamon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simmer<\/strong> for 1 minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the 1\/2-cup crumb mixture that you saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 cups raspberries (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add to crust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add top Crumb mixture on filling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake at 375 for 30-45 minutes, or until slightly brown on top.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Tioga County Fair will be host to a \u201cBest Pie in the County\u201d contest at the Arts and Crafts Barn&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":74365,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-74362","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Pie contest taking place next Tuesday at the fair!
