Grammy nominated band, Professor Louie and the Crowmatix, will be bringing their energy to the Courthouse Square during this year\u2019s Strawberry Festival. The performance is slated for 8 p.m. on Friday, June 14, on the Courthouse Stage and will be capped off with fireworks, sponsored by Royal Automotive, and an All-Star Jam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woodstock groupies and casual listeners can groove with the singers and musicians who sang, played, produced, and engineered songs for 1969 Woodstock Festival performers, The Band,<\/em><\/strong> and with headliners and Grammy winners Van Morrison<\/em>, Randy Newman<\/em>, Bonnie Raitt<\/em>, Natalie Merchant<\/em>, Judy Collins<\/em>, Levon Helm<\/em> and Bob Dylan\u2019s \u201cRolling Thunder Review<\/em>.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Louie and the Cromatix are original, creative and still playing on stage with undiminished passion of the Woodstock Festival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aaron \u201cProfessor Louie<\/em>\u201d Hurwitz, nicknamed by The Band\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> singer and bassist Rick Danko, was responsible for The Band\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> return in the 90\u2019s, performing, engineering, and co-producing the CD\u2019s Jericho<\/em>, High on the Hog,<\/em> and Jubilation<\/em>. Yes, The Band<\/em><\/strong> who toured with Bob Dylan and played a ten-song set on day three of the Woodstock Festival 50 years ago on Max Yasgur\u2019 farm in Bethel, N.Y.; the event we celebrate here with the 39th annual Strawberry Fest in Owego.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cromatix\u2019s singer and guitarist, John Platania, first hit the charts one year after Woodstock – playing on Van Morrison\u2019s<\/strong> original 1970 recording of Moondance<\/em><\/strong> and later on Domino<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His collaboration with Morrison continues to this day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Platania has been a go-to musician for other masters and collaborated with Chip Taylor<\/strong> whose writing credits include classics Wild Thing <\/em>and Angel of the Morning<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to be outdone, drummer Gary Burke<\/strong>, after a four-year stint as the drummer for the Radio City Orchestra in New York City, performed with Bob Dylan\u2019s<\/strong> Rolling Thunder Review<\/em> and recorded and toured extensively with Joe Jackson.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singer and percussionist, \u201cMiss Marie\u201d<\/strong> Spinosa, has performed and recorded with Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson, and was an integral part of Mercury Rev\u2019s<\/strong> Gold Album – Deserters Song<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frank Campbell<\/strong> (bass and vocals)<\/strong> was Levon Helm\u2019s<\/strong> music director with the Woodstock All-stars, touring the USA, and performed and recorded with Steve Forbert<\/strong> on tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
