Last week, the Tioga Arts Council in Owego offered a Sneak Peek Exhibition of the Tioga Arts & Agricultural Trail (TAAT) at the Tourism office, located on Front Street. The preview offered guests a glimpse of the artists and agriculturists that will be participating in the 2019 TAAT event on May 11 and 12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tioga Arts & Agriculture Trail is a free, countywide, self-guided tour through the area\u2019s art studios and farmland, and will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. During this event, participants can discover a local artist, have an adventure, or make a memory with a loved one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the preview, several participants were on hand to talk about the two-day event. Christina Di Stefano, arts council director, addressed guests, stating, \u201cIt\u2019s a good thing that these artists are opening their doors to guests; let\u2019s support our artists.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Artist Michael Husted was also on hand during the sneak preview. He stated that he has been involved in the tour since it began as an annual event. \u201cI almost gave up when it started because it was slow,\u201d said Husted, \u201cbut it has picked up since then and I\u2019m very glad I\u2019m a participant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chris Knickerbocker was also at the sneak preview, and offered that her Old Souls Home exhibition will be open on the third floor of Rusty and Jewel, located on Lake Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
LeAnn Tinney, director of Economic Development for Tioga County, encouraged the community to come out and support the Tioga Arts & Agricultural Trail, stating, \u201cBeing able to offer cultural activities attracts people to come to Tioga County, and to live and work here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
