Drop by the studio, located at 32-34 Lake St. in Owego, on Saturday, March 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. They will have food, including birthday cake, libations, and live music provided by the band, Story.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The studio has a 20-plus year history serving the fitness needs of Owego residents. First owned and operated by Val Gundrum, the original studio was located on Central Avenue and was called Aerobics Central. It moved from that location to the Lake Street location about 20 years ago. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After several intervening changes in ownership, Val re-opened the studio as Four Seasons Fitness Studio in March 2004. Val passed away from kidney cancer in 2012.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"791\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2019\/03\/Birthday-791x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Four Seasons Fitness Studio celebrates 15th birthday!\" class=\"wp-image-71714\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2019\/03\/Birthday-791x1024.jpg 791w, http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2019\/03\/Birthday-232x300.jpg 232w, http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2019\/03\/Birthday-768x994.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2019\/03\/Birthday.jpg 1020w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 791px) 100vw, 791px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The current owners, Barbara Patten and Cassandra Thompson, bought Four Seasons from Val\u2019s husband Pat in 2014. Both Barbara and Cassandra are long-time members of the studio; they were both instructors there when Val passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Val believed deeply in volunteering and community service. She truly was an inspiration. Honoring her memory and continuing her legacy, Barbara and Cassandra have held several \u2018fitness challenges\u2019 over the years to raise money for national and local charities, beginning with the 2012 \u201cSpin-a-thon\u201d to raise money to battle the kidney cancer that took Val\u2019s life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations that have benefited from the studio fundraisers include Tioga County Rural Ministry, Maddie\u2019s Meadows, Tioga United Way, and Owego schools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The March Madness Challenge will be collecting for an organization to be named later. Check the studio\u2019s Facebook page for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It might be <em>the studio\u2019s<\/em> birthday, but they are celebrating with some \u2018gifts\u2019 for <em>members<\/em>. This month they\u2019re offering a new class, Spin Fusion, and a new fitness challenge, \u201cMarch Madness\u201d. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be membership specials all month long. New members receive 15 percent off a new membership; returning members receive 15 percent off a membership when they bring a new member who buys a membership.
