Lucky for you if there\u2019s a dog in your life who lives in the present moment. Perfectly happy with a walk and a belly rub, your dog lives in the moment and can help to reduce your stress and help you recharge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following your dog\u2019s lead, plan some quality time with your dog and enjoy a little stress relief this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One great thing about a dog is they\u2019re always ready for a little attention or a fun game. Many people don\u2019t enjoy a dog as they could. Games are a great way to form a loving bond with your dog. Your dog will be more engaged if you\u2019re fun and exciting. This will also improve your ability to communicate and train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"928\" height=\"874\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2018\/12\/Dog_News.jpg\" alt=\"Reduce holiday stress with play!\" class=\"wp-image-70415\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2018\/12\/Dog_News.jpg 928w, http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2018\/12\/Dog_News-300x283.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2018\/12\/Dog_News-768x723.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 928px) 100vw, 928px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve worked with thousands of people and their dogs and it\u2019s surprising how many people really don\u2019t know how to play. Think beyond your typical game of fetch or tug. Be creative, chase the ball with your dog or run away when your dog retrieves. Turn fetch into \u201ccatch me if you can.\u201d Or, hide the ball in a bush or by a tree and encourage your dog to \u201cfind it.\u201d This will use up a lot more mental energy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A game of tug should be structured to control excitement. Tug can get carried away, so use your basic commands, such as sit and wait before you begin and occasionally while you play. Teaching your dog to \u201cdrop it\u201d will also help you to control this fun game. Adding creativity to your regular games makes them more fun for your dog and it will increase your dogs\u2019 interest in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Play improves your relationship with your dog. Play increases a dog\u2019s focus and offers you a better vision of canine communication and body language. Those who play together stay together.
