KIM JAM, an all-star music extravaganza, will bring together more than 20 local musicians for a one-of-a-kind show in support of Kim Gulick and her son, Tyler, who suffered devastating damage to their Conklin, N.Y. home after a flash flood in August.<\/p>\n

Multiple relentless rain events left behind extensive flood damage to the southern tier, and there are a number of places that still bear the scars. Such is the case for Kim Gulick and her 21-year-old son, Tyler, whose home on Carlin Road in Conklin, and situated near Carlin Creek and not far from the Susquehanna River, was severely impacted.<\/p>\n

KIM JAM, an all-star music extravaganza, will bring together more than 20 local musicians for a one-of-a-kind show in support of Kim Gulick and her son, Tyler, who suffered devastating damage to their Conklin, N.Y. home after a flash flood in August. The show is scheduled on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at Touch of Texas, located at 1240 Front St. in Binghamton, N.Y. For a $10 donation, guests will enjoy live music, 50-50\u2019s, a bake sale, and gift basket and gift certificate raffles. For additional information and up-to-date details about the event, find \u201cKIM JAM \u2013 Benefit for Kim and Tyler Gulick\u201d on Facebook.<\/p><\/div>\n

The August flash flood wiped out both bottom floors of the Gulick\u2019s duplex. Kim and Tyler live in part of the house that features a rental, and which paid their mortgage and other bills. Because of the severity of the flooding, the Gulick\u2019s lost all of their appliances and furniture, flooring and walls, kitchen cabinets, electric baseboard heat and electrical outlets, along with a hot water tank and septic, among other issues.<\/p>\n

Kim and Tyler, and also their pets, are currently living in the home with limited heat and few basic necessities while they slowly pull their life back together.<\/p>\n

Gulick, a deputy dog control officer at the Town of Conklin and Town of Binghamton and founder \/ manager of Lost & Found Pets of Broome County, N.Y., an organization that helps reunite pets and their owners, has worked tirelessly to save countless animals in the area, and where she finds them safe, loving homes.<\/p>\n

A long-time supporter of musicians within the close-knit music community in the southern tier, Gulick is not only a fan, but has been a key contributor in assisting bands with various tasks at area music events. <\/p>\n

KIM JAM is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at Touch of Texas, located at 1240 Front St. in Binghamton, N.Y. For a $10 donation, guests will enjoy live music by talented artists from all over the southern tier, as well as 50-50\u2019s, a bake sale, and gift basket and gift certificate raffles, just to name a few.<\/p>\n

Sid Peake, a long-time musician in the area and a member of The Gents and the Deep Watts \u201cAll-Star\u201d Band, remarked, \u201cIt will be a pretty cool live show with the latest edition of the All-Star Band and will feature some of the greatest local players in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show, a creative blend of area artists, is unique, too, Peake explained, because it will pull together a host of musicians who will jump on stage to play together for the first time.<\/p>\n

KIM JAM will help raise funds for the Gulick\u2019s so they can continue working on the extensive repairs at their home. Several items, such as furniture and appliances, are being donated. KIM JAM organizers are also reaching out to find individuals who can assist the Gulick\u2019s with inside work such as drywall and electrical.<\/p>\n

Anyone who can volunteer to put up drywall or do electrical work should contact Kim Hammond Gulick at the \u201cLost & Found Pets Broome County, N.Y.\u201d Facebook page.
