Guests will have the opportunity to make their own primitive arrow in the old Native American way using wood shaft, real turkey feathers, hide glue, pine pitch glue and real sinew.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Learn how the Indians procured, prepared and used these materials, and the importance of the arrow shaft to primitive survival. Participants will choose between using a flint point or a metal trade point to tip their arrows, and between making either a plains style or eastern style arrow.<\/p>\n<p>The fee for the workshop is $21 for Newark Valley Historical Society members, and $26 for non-members. All materials for making the arrow are provided.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To register, call Leslie by Oct. 19 at (607) 642-5412. Scholarships are available.
