If the rain from the last few weeks wasn’t enough, and as residents and businesses in the region begin clean up, more rain and flooding is anticipated for today, and residents are encouraged to take caution while traveling – especially in affected areas.<\/p>\n

According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood warning is in effect now and through this evening for portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania, including the following areas, in central New York, Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schuyler, Steuben, Sullivan, Tioga, and Tompkins. In northeast Pennsylvania, Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Northern Wayne, Pike, Southern Wayne, Susquehanna and Wyoming.  <\/p>\n

Areas of very heavy rain are possible this morning and again this afternoon and evening, and heavy rain will cause rapid rises and possible flash flooding of streams and creeks, overflow of ditches and culverts, and ponding of water on roads. <\/p>\n
