This event is free and open to the public, just in time for the Holiday Season, and the organizers look forward to many local food vendors, artists and craft persons as vendors to offer their work for sale.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They invite all&nbsp;artists and crafts persons as well as local vendors of farm goods and homemade food to participate in this year\u2019s Fair.&nbsp;Applications received prior to Sept. 1 will ensure your name is included in their pre-event publicity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Contact Meredith Kohn Bocek at (607) 658-6589 or <a href=\"mailto:mbocek@stny.rr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>mbocek@stny.rr.com<\/i><\/a> for an application or stop by the following shops in Owego: Black Cat Gallery, Gallery Forty-One, River Row Books, or the Tioga County Council on the Arts in Owego. The Fair Committee will use appropriate media to advertise the event, including ads, posters, newspaper articles, lawn signs and social media.<\/p>\n<p>As in years past, all proceeds from this event will be donated to the Rotary Polio Plus Campaign. Every child deserves the right to walk, run, and play without fear of paralysis.&nbsp; Although Polio is largely unknown in the industrialized nations, it is a disease that still robs children of that right in other parts of the world. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) is committed to achieving a polio-free world. Rotary is a spearheading partner in the GPEI along with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has invested in the eradication of polio and is working closely with the GPEI. The goal of the initiative is the global certification of polio eradication.
