Five Waverly High School students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on March 28 during a ceremony at the Thomas A. Edison High School auditorium in Elmira Heights, New York.<\/p>\n

Students from other GST BOCES component schools were included as well.<\/p>\n

The students who were inducted include Rebecca Salsman, Culinary Arts; Seona Gadow and Desiree VanDyke, New Visions Education and Human Services; Capria Picco, New Visions Health Careers Exploration; and Tyler Croft, New Visions Innovation, Leadership and Business.<\/p>\n

To be admitted to the NTHS, students are required to have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and the nominee must be enrolled in a CTE (career technical) program. In addition to NTHS requirements, criteria include additional credit hours being completed, exemplary student attendance, positive instructor nominations, lack of disciplinary records, and CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) membership.<\/p>\n

NTHS is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education. Thousands of schools and colleges are affiliated with the society. Member schools agree that NTHS encourages higher scholastic achievement, cultivates a desire for personal excellence, and helps top students find success in today\u2019s highly competitive workplace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
