For all of the Wreckless Marci fans out there, front man Sonny Weeks, who continues to wow his fans with his energetic performances, recently delivered some exciting news. On Aug. 31, Weeks traveled to Camden, N.J. for a Green Day show and was determined that evening to get on stage. And that he did.<\/p>\n

Weeks ultimately ended up on stage to perform \u201cLongview\u201d with the band. And then following his energetic performance he dove back into the crowd.<\/p>\n

And those who know Sonny Weeks will agree that he is a consummate Green Day fan, having followed them literally, according to Weeks, since he was a child. \u201cI admire Green Day for more than their music,\u201d said Weeks, adding, \u201cOver the years the band would turn into my inspiration.\u201d <\/p>\n

But jumping on stage with Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, for Weeks, was a reassurance for him that his is heading in a good direction!<\/p>\n

On Monday, Weeks described his experience, which can be viewed at https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jKJ2H3la5hk&feature=youtu.be<\/a> (as a warning, there are explicit lyrics in this video).<\/p>\n

Twenty-nine-year old Weeks, who is originally from Tunkhannock, Pa., traveled to the show with a couple of friends on Aug. 31 for what would be the fifth time he has seen a full concert featuring Green Day.<\/p>\n

With several shows under his belt already, Weeks knew it was a tradition for Billie Joe Armstrong, the front man for Green Day, to pull guests onto the stage for a portion of the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m such a fan that I knew when they were going to get ready to pull someone up on stage,\u201d said Weeks, adding, \u201cWhen they performed Longview I knew it would be at the end of the song.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Armstrong began queuing for someone to come on stage and finish the lyrics to Longview, and while claiming to have lost his voice, Weeks made himself more visible, standing on the hands of his friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was going back and forth, and when he came back my way I knew he was going to call me up,\u201d said Weeks.<\/p>\n

Hurling himself up on the stage, Weeks called that experience a \u201cconscience moment\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cI fixed my glasses, looked at the crowd, saw my hero and gave him a hug and said, \u2018Nice to meet you Mr. Armstrong,\u2019\u201d Weeks added.<\/p>\n

Then, his performance mode took over, and Weeks delivered.<\/p>\n

Weeks stated during the interview that he wasn\u2019t nervous, in spite of the large crowd of concertgoers, and he attributed his stage presence on the evening of Aug. 31 to his progress over the last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last year for me has been a big year,\u201d stated Weeks, \u201cperformance-wise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Belting out the lyrics, inspiring the crowd to join him, and even sharing the mic with Armstrong, Weeks ended by standing up on a platform, extending his arms, and then introducing himself to the crowd. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy name\u2019s Sonny Weeks, nice to meet you New Jersey,\u201d he shouted out to the crowd; this was merely seconds before he was motioned to dive back into the crowd by Armstrong.<\/p>\n

Weeks also described the experience, vocally, noting that he threw in his own twist on the last chorus of Longview, and that Armstrong noticed. <\/p>\n

\u201cI improvised to a lower harmony, so Armstrong threw in a higher one,\u201d Weeks exclaimed. <\/p>\n

As for the stage dive that followed the performance, he noted that it\u2019s pretty common. It was, however, Weeks\u2019 first stage dive.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just went for it,\u201d said Weeks, adding, \u201cThe key is to roll on your back.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he landed back in the crowd, people were letting him walk through and were complimenting him and delivering high five\u2019s. Even on the ferry that took concertgoers back to where they were parked Weeks realized he had made new fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were playing Green Day on the ferry, and people wanted me to sing,\u201d said Weeks.<\/p>\n

Although he chose not to sing on the ferry, for Weeks, that moment on Aug. 31 was a life-changing experience \u2013 one that boosted his confidence in his future endeavors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m heading into the 30-year-old mark,\u201d said Weeks, \u201cso who knows where my career will go. As performers we eat ourselves up, and as you get older it gets harder. That moment reassured me, I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n

And his fans back home, upon the news, reacted.<\/p>\n

Suzette Fahey, who has been a fan of Wreckless Marci for over two years, said she wasn\u2019t surprised when she saw a video of Sonny Weeks on stage at a Green Day concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was not surprised to see him on stage and was not at all surprised to see him work the stage and the crowd; he is a natural up there,\u201d said Fahey.<\/p>\n

James Graham, who met Weeks several years ago when he moved up north from Florida, stated, \u201cSonny is a great person and musician, and not only that but a great performer too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenn Apgar, a Wreckless Marci fan for four years, reacted to the video, stating, \u201cWhen he was chosen to go on the stage with Green Day it was like he owned that stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weeks has a large following with Wreckless Marci, and also with his other band called Vape. Weeks is also a songwriter, and contributes his life experiences to the depth added in the music he writes. <\/p>\n

Back home, Wreckless Marci had several shows on their calendar as Weeks continues to reflect on that moment in time.<\/p>\n

As for what he will be doing next, Weeks said, \u201cMaybe I can go skydiving.\u201d<\/p>\n
