Animal Adventure Park, home of April, Oliver and Tajiri, has yet another noteworthy resident. A second alligator was captured in Whitney Point on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation captured the second alligator about a quarter mile north from the area where the first alligator was caught late last month. The alligator measures 45 inches in length. <\/span><\/p>\n Like the first alligator, which was captured on July 29 behind the fairgrounds in Whitney Point, this alligator will enter into a seven to ten day quarantine period immediately, and then be placed on exhibit.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe most recent addition to our alligator family is thriving. Whitney will soon complete quarantine, and will join our exhibit in the coming days,\u201d Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure Park, said. <\/span><\/p>\n He added, \u201cWe are excited to hear the news of a second alligator, and even more pleased and relieved to hear it was captured safely. We look forward to giving both of these animals a safe and suitable home at Animal Adventure Park.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Animal education and appreciation is our top priority at Animal Adventure Park,\u201d Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure, said. \u201cWe are thrilled to be able to provide this animal with a safe, appropriate environment and the home it deserves.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Over the past few weeks, the New York State DEC has been investigating the possibility of alligators on the loose in Broome County. Reports of alligator sightings in the Whitney Point area began to swarm social media last weekend, and continued to swirl even after the capture of the first alligator. <\/span><\/p>\n Animal Adventure is an interactive, educational animal park located in the hills of Harpursville, N.Y., which is 15 minutes outside of Binghamton, N.Y. The park\u2019s mission is to communicate an appreciation for living things through the use of the human senses and to educate guests about the lives of its animal ambassadors. <\/span><\/p>\n Animal Adventure is federally licensed by the USDA; ensuring that the same standards of care met by of zoos and aquariums in the United States. The park is staffed by zoologists, animal behaviorist, biologists, educators and general caretakers.
