\"BattleThe Battle of the Bands, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, was met with some difficulties as power outages spread through Owego following a brief windstorm with rain. The fairgrounds lost power as well.<\/p>\n

Bands scheduled to battle included Friends with Benny\u2019s, Rare Breed, Drama Scream, and Scranton-based Threatpoint. But because of the current and pending storms, the Fair Board decided to cancel, but offered the bands an opportunity to get a small fee to play; the grandstand fees were waived as well.<\/p>\n

Friends with Benny\u2019s and Drama Scream decided to stay and perform at the fair anyhow, and both bands delivered about a 50-minute set each before the heavy rains arrived. The fair board was also able to get power back to the fair, and the portable stage\u2019s generator was able to power the sound equipment.<\/p>\n

Over on the Fairway, and before the rain arrived, things were picking up as Midway games were added to the venue and the rides were up and running. Due to circumstances<\/p>\n

Action returns to the fair on Saturday with continued 4-H activities, a Lumberjack Show, and then the finals set for the demolition derby at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
