For years, the all-original Vaudeville variety musical act Peaches and Crime has been bringing a revival of a vibrant, varied, and unpredictable stage art for to stages across New York and beyond. But on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center in Owego, New York, Peaches and Crime will be \u201cheading out west\u201d to reprise their highly acclaimed theatrical production, \u201cBandit\u2019s Burlesque,\u201d a country-themed old-timey burlesque show that spans decades of history of this performance style.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs with everything we do, we wanted this to be a creative development of what it is we’re reviving,\u201d said Daniel \u201cDanny Black\u201d Schwartz, the group\u2019s lyricist. \u201cWe\u2019ve done vaudeville shows before. Burlesque shows too. But we wanted to give the audience a fresh new take on this classic art form.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt excites audiences,\u201d observed Angela \u201cAngie Diamond\u201d Schwartz, the act\u2019s lead singer and composer. \u201cThey feel like they\u2019re living history. People have usually associated the \u2018crime\u2019 in our name with 1920s and 1930s gangsters, but the Wild West was just as criminal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Along with the Schwartzes, Peaches and Crime includes Julia \u201cAbbigail Pins\u201d Adams as vocalist and trumpet player, Cat \u201cYoung Catherine\u201d McDonald as vocalist and clarinetist, Greg \u201cGregor Gregorevich” Baker on bass, Tony \u201cthe Greek\u201d Georges on guitar, Mike \u201cMikey the Fist\u201d Sclafani on keyboard, and AJ \u201cFats\u201d Rembert playing drums. <\/p>\n
But for this show they\u2019re sharing the stage with a slew of talented dancers, including Lily \u201cDomino Trixx\u201d Clark, Jean \u201cShimmer LaRue\u201d Graham, Lyn \u201cPenny Farthing\u201d Leis, Fae \u201cIvy Midnight\u201d Nordstrom, Lori \u201cAnn Prospect\u201d Pickering, JamieLynn \u201cLucy Haze\u201d Stulir & Arydaea Insanity as \u201cVanilla Danger\u201d. <\/p>\n
