Judge Richard Mott began deliberating in the fourth murder trial for Calvin Harris on Thursday. Judge Mott arrived at approximately 10:30 on Thursday, and went directly into chambers to begin his deliberations.<\/p>\n

By 4:30 p.m., the clerk came out into the courtroom to tell the attorneys, the prosecutors, and everyone else gathered in the courtroom that there wouldn\u2019t be a verdict that day, and that the judge will resume deliberations on Friday.<\/p>\n

The jury in the third trial held in 2015 deliberated for 11 days, and reported they were deadlocked three times. For a bench trial, the time period to reach a verdict is expected to be much less than 11 days, but no one can be sure how long it will take.<\/p>\n

Calvin Harris of Spencer, N.Y. is charged with second\u2013degree murder for the disappearance of his wife, Michele, in September of 2001. Neither her body, nor a murder weapon has ever been found.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
