Members of the Village of Owego Board of Trustees attended a Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) Readiness Workshop on Feb. 24. The workshop was presented by Tioga County Economic Development and Planning.<\/p>\n

Speakers at the event were Economic Development and Planning Director Lee Ann Tinney and County Planner Elaine Jardine. Leaders of organizations that had successfully written a grant application also spoke.<\/p>\n

Abbey Hendrickson, executive director of the Tioga Arts Council spoke of how to access the “Grants Gateway”, which allows an organization to apply for a grant.<\/p>\n

Elaine Jardine talked about the CFA online application and the New York Main Street Programs.<\/p>\n

Newark Valley Mayor Jim Tornatore gave a presentation on a Municipal Historic Preservation Grant that Newark Valley obtained to restore their historic library and municipal building.<\/p>\n

Naima Kradjain, CEO of the Goodwill Theatre in Johnson City spoke on the need for thorough planning before you begin a project and educating stakeholders on the vision of the final product.<\/p>\n

Jean Egenhofer, Central Region grants administrator for the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation spoke on the different types of grants available in Tioga County.<\/p>\n

Since Tioga County is in the Susquehanna Heritage Area an organization in Tioga County can apply for grants through them in addition to through the New York State DEC Grants Program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
