Local beekeeper and Tioga United Way\u2019s inspiration, the late Thomas Babcock.<\/p><\/div>\n

Which Tioga County school district, organization, business, or wicked smart group of individuals will seize the title of \u2018Best Spellers in Tioga County\u2019? Grab a few of your brilliant friends for a fast-paced, grownup group spelling bee from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at the Owego Elks Lodge, 223 Front St., Owego.<\/p>\n

It is sure to be a scintillating evening with honeybee cakes, refreshments, local beekeepers and honey. A silent auction of celebrity lunches is one of the many highlights and prizes will be given away for Best Team Costume.<\/p>\n

The teams will be made up of two to five individuals and all must register online at tiogaunitedway.com<\/a> or by calling (607) 687-4028.<\/p>\n

To enter, each team contributes $100 and must be at least 21 years of age.\u00a0If spelling just isn\u2019t your thing, but you would like to join in the festivities and support a worthy cause, there\u2019s a $5 admission fee. If you\u2019d like to sponsor a team or volunteer, call (607) 687-4028.<\/p>\n
