Fagan has a new CD entitled, “Something Right.” Available for purchase at cdbaby.com and various local businesses, proceeds from several songs on the CD support non-profit and other organizations. Singer\/songwriter and Waverly, N.Y. resident, Andy G. Fagan, best known for his song, \u201cRising\u201d on his first CD of the same name, has a new CD available entitled, \u201cSomething Right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Released in December 2015, \u201cSomething Right\u201d is a culmination of songs inspired from Fagan\u2019s personal life as well as his professional career as Director of the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Tioga and Chemung Counties in New York.<\/p>\n

Fagan\u2019s second CD follows the success of \u201cRising,\u201d which was released in 2013 and dedicated to the people of the Twin Tiers of New York and Pennsylvania impacted by Tropical Storms Lee and Irene, and has since touched people who have experienced the impacts of flooding around the globe. Fagan explained that he is pleased that his songs have been heard worldwide, such as fans following him in the Philippines, an example of how the power of the Internet and changes in recording and sharing music has expanded the reach of independent artists.<\/p>\n

With \u201cSomething Right,\u201d Fagan gives back to the community, something he genuinely enjoys. Proceeds from the sale of individual songs from the CD will benefit multiple non-profits and other organizations.<\/p>\n

Recorded at M&N Studio in Athens, Pa. and produced by Mark Thurston, who also worked with Fagan to record \u201cRising,\u201d \u201cSomething Right\u201d showcases Fagan\u2019s acoustic guitar talent, songwriting, vocals and melodies.<\/p>\n

Composing and singing since he was about 14 years old, Fagan estimates he has penned about 250 songs to date. Now performing his music at fundraisers and other events, Fagan joked that some of his early audience were actually the heifers from his family\u2019s dairy farm. Back in the day, focus on farm chores was challenged by also making time to listen to the top 40 countdown on the radio and performing music. Fagan\u2019s varied music interest included the likes of Joan Baez, John Denver, Journey, Olivia Newton-John and Helen Reddy, among others.<\/p>\n

Regarding his second full-length album, \u201cSomething Right,\u201d Fagan shared, \u201cIt reminds us of a time when AM radios played in everyone\u2019s kitchen in the 70\u2019s; when country, folk, pop, and even dance were all played on the same station.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several songs have individual organizations identified where proceeds will be given. For example, \u201cLady Liberty,\u201d was written by Fagan in memory of his sister, Kate, who died from a heart attack in 2001. In Kate\u2019s memory, proceeds from the song help the Martha\u2019s Vineyard Pink Squid Yacht Club Student Scholarships. Proceeds from the song, \u201cSomething Right\u201d will be donated to the Trevor Project, a suicide prevention program. Another example, proceeds from the song, \u201cOur Dairy Princess,\u201d will help the American Dairy Association education programs.<\/p>\n

A total of 12 songs are included on \u201cSomething Right,\u201d including the piece \u201c31 Club,\u201d in memory of Fagan\u2019s sister, Mary, who was murdered in 1991. Fagan\u2019s daughter, Erin, provides background vocals and flute on the CD, which primarily falls into the genres of adult contemporary and alternative folk.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething Right\u201d is available at several local merchants including Riverow Bookshop, Broad Street Records, the Valley Flower Shoppe, Susquehanna River Archaeological Center, The Jolly Farmer, Yale\u2019s Music Shop, Mad Hatters Caf\u00e9 and Co-Op and The Christmas House, as well as McNeil Music of Ithaca, among others, and is available on-line at cdbaby.com and iTunes.<\/p>\n
