The first annual semi-formal adult prom night is scheduled on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Best Western Grand Victorian Inn located at 255 Spring St. in Sayre, Pa.\u00a0The event, “A Night Under the Stars,” will be held in\u00a0the Grand Ballroom from 7 p.m. to midnight.<\/p>\n

Adult Prom Night, an event arranged to bring people together ages 21 and over for an\u00a0enjoyable evening of dancing, refreshments and activities,\u00a0also, in turn, helps the\u00a0community.\u00a0A portion of the proceeds from this year\u2019s event will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps “Toys for Tots.”<\/p>\n

Event organizer, Dawn Krug, a local psychic medium and owner of\u00a0Awareness Intuitive Studio, came up with the\u00a0idea of Adult Prom Night as a way to give back to the community.\u00a0The first of its kind in the area, Adult Prom Night events are popular throughout the\u00a0United States and typically benefit various charities.<\/p>\n

Krug explained that as a young person and later as a mother, her family struggled financially and oftentimes money was limited at Christmas.\u00a0As\u00a0the\u00a0mother of three and now a grandmother, Krug understands first-hand the difficult and stressful aspects that families experience during the holiday season.\u00a0Krug is hopeful that\u00a0the first annual\u00a0Adult Prom Night will help local parents and their children\u00a0have a happier Christmas.<\/p>\n

Future Adult Prom Night\u2019s will benefit various charities in our region. Krug shared that Toys for Tots was selected this year since her brother, who serves in the U.S. Marines, is involved with the program. A family with Marine roots, Krug\u2019s son currently serves in the U.S. Marines as well.<\/p>\n

Adult Prom Night at the Grand Victorian Inn features door prizes, 50\/50 drawings, a silent auction, photo booth, and music provided by D.J. A’Don Allen.\u00a0Hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and the crowning of a “Prom King and Queen” will also be part of the evening activities.<\/p>\n

Krug shared, \u201cThis is a semi-formal occasion, so evening gowns and tuxedos are optional.\u201d Krug added, \u201cFor ladies, dig into your closet for your little black dress and you\u2019re all set for the night!\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets for the Adult Prom Night event are $55 for couples and $35 for singles. Single persons will receive a bracelet at the door to identify their relationship status. Guests who bring a new toy to the event will be entered into a door prize.<\/p>\n

Krug shared, \u201cBring a date or bring your spouse. For singles, mix and mingle with other singles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pre-purchased tickets are strongly recommended.\u00a0More than 100 tickets have already been sold, with a maximum of 240 tickets available.<\/p>\n
