Fifth district Legislator Raymond P. Case announced recently that he intends to seek the 5th district legislative seat he currently holds on the Tioga County Legislature. He indicated, in a press release, that he has three primary reasons for seeking a second term.<\/p>\n
Case is the Chairman of the Economic Development and Planning Committee of the Tioga County Legislature. He states he is particularly proud of the progress the department he oversees has had in serving current businesses and working to attract new businesses.<\/p>\n
In his press release, Case stated that he is pleased with bringing emphasis to the Waverly-Barton area and the professional relationships that have developed. He indicated he also serves as a board member for the Tioga County Industrial Development Agency and the Valley Economic Development Agency.<\/p>\n
In his release, Case stated that he seeks another term in order to help bring to fruition several initiatives that are currently being developed among these three cooperating agencies. \u201cThe obvious goal is to retain current jobs as well as bring in new jobs,\u201d stated Case in his release.<\/p>\n
Secondly, Case stated that he desires to continue to work with the rest of the legislature in its efforts to rebuild the county\u2019s infrastructure and more clearly define the role of county government.<\/p>\n
Case pointed out, in his release, that as diverse as the various legislators are, they all understand the long-term economic advantages of a solid infrastructure and their need to work together for the benefit of all the county residents. He is emphatic that for our democracy to work we must have honest disagreement – but with a willingness to be open minded, a willingness to compromise, constituent sensitive and always have as our goal the greater good. To him this is the posture of the Tioga County Legislature.<\/p>\n
Case stated he has served the people of Tioga County for over 20 years as both an executive and a legislator. Case emphasizes he has enjoyed representing Waverly and a portion of the Town of Barton, \u201cWhere good people have a strong sense of community and community responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
Case concluded that he would be honored to continue to serve the people of the 5th district.\u00a0Case also serves as deputy chair on the legislature.<\/p>\n
Case stated in his release that he is confident he has effectively represented the 5th district as well as Tioga County.
