Have we woken up yet?\u00a0Regionalism is taking a stronger hold in New York State and is leaving our local elected officials with less voice in Albany.\u00a0Our economy is failing and with more state\/federal regulations, grants\/loans enticements, conservation easements\/farmland restrictions, green spaces, and rising property taxes – our property rights are in jeopardy.<\/p>\n

Property\u00a0ownership is what separates America from most other countries.\u00a0 Property rights in New York are being challenged\u00a0and Tom DeWeese will help us when and if we get in trouble with the State.\u00a0\u00a0Farmers are selling their land in order to pay the higher taxes and to comply with strict regulations by the EPA and DEC.\u00a0Dairy farms are disappearing from the landscape because of government demands being too costly to implement.\u00a0Why is this happening?<\/p>\n

There is a reason and Tom DeWeese knows the answer.\u00a0He is a nationally recognized speaker on diminishing property rights in America.\u00a0DeWeese is the author of books on the subject, is President of the American Policy Center (www.americanpolicy.org), and has crossed the country alerting Americans to the issue for over 20 years.\u00a0He recently met with Maine State Legislators and as a result, they are now working on several bills to protect property rights and stop taking Federal grants.<\/p>\n

Tom DeWeese is coming to Owego and Binghamton, N.Y. to share his expertise on property rights.\u00a0They are inviting all elected officials to attend this informative\u00a0meeting to help\u00a0safeguard property rights.\u00a0The meeting is\u00a0also open to the general public.<\/p>\n

Organizers are asking for a $10 donation to help with expenses (hotel room, publicity, copies, etc.).\u00a0Donations may also be made at this Go Fund Me account:\u00a0gofundme.com\/rhtc2c<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The meeting in Owego will take place on Thursday, May 14, at the Owego Elks Lodge at 6:30 p.m. In Binghamton, the meeting will take place on Friday, May 15, at the Central Baptist Church located at 1606 State Route 12 in Chenango Bridge, at 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
