Our agricultural residents\u00a0will be putting their property\u00a0rights in jeopardy if they accept the $500\/acre from the state.\u00a0It was published in\u00a0The Press\u00a0that New York State would give the $500\/acre to farmers in exchange for an easement to ensure it remains farmland for 25 years.<\/p>\n
Please have your lawyer carefully look through any documentation BEFORE you sign\/accept anything.\u00a0What will happen\u00a0an illness occurs and you are put in a nursing home, death happens to you, or you want to retire?\u00a0Will the State confiscate your property, as they are out to grab land?<\/p>\n
The State has also been known to just change their stipulations and things can change quickly.\u00a0Please get together and go through this with your Ag. Committee.\u00a0I would be happy to come in and discuss this with you.<\/p>\n
My group, New Yorkers for Property Rights\u00a0(NY4PR)\u00a0tries to stay on top of things but this came out of the blue.\u00a0The American Policy Center (www.americanpolicy.org) is now in the process of hiring activists to help areas that have a slew\u00a0of property rights being violated.\u00a0John Anthony of Sustainable Freedom Lab www.sustainablefreedomlab.org)\u00a0also helps us out.<\/p>\n
Be wary Tioga County – the State makes things sound so good when the outcome will not be for the best of us.\u00a0Green jobs and clean energy will only mean more wind turbines and solar panels that will never pay for itself.\u00a0How are they rally helping us – they are not.<\/p>\n
Next will be the banning of wood-burning stoves,\u00a0wood-burning fireplaces, and coal stoves.\u00a0Hopefully there will be a “grandfathered” clause.\u00a0Our electric bill will soon rise and our “Smart Meters” will control how much\u00a0electricity we can use.<\/p>\n
Whenever there are proposals of changes from the State I will keep you posted if property rights are put in jeopardy.<\/p>\n
