William H. Lane Incorporated has announced that two William H. Lane Incorporated scholarships have been awarded this year by Binghamton University to two of its students. The William H. Lane Incorporated scholarship is awarded to a matriculated full-time undergraduate junior or senior or full or part-time graduate student in nursing. The award is based upon academic merit and proven financial need. The recipient must be a New York State resident with first preference given to those residing in upstate New York.\u00a0The scholarship is awarded to two students annually.<\/p>\n

Lane Incorporated and their generosity, which assists our students in obtaining their degrees and furthering their careers.\u00a0 They have been a valued member of our scholarship program since 1996 and we are grateful for all they have done and continue to do for the University,\u201d commented Rebecca Hancock, donor relations and special events coordinator for Binghamton University.<\/p>\n
The William H. Lane Incorporated scholarship for nursing students came as a result of Mr. William H. Lane\u2019s personal connection to nursing. His mother, sister and brother were all nurses, thus the nursing program holds a special place in the heart of Mr. Lane. The recipients of this year\u2019s scholarships are Edwin-Nikko Kabigting and Hollyn Robinson.<\/p>\n

Edwin-Nikko Kabigting, a registered nurse, is a graduate student in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Educator program in the Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University. Edwin is also a teaching assistant at Decker. His goal is to become a family nurse practitioner and nursing educator.<\/p>\n
Hollyn Robinson is a senior in the Decker School of Nursing and will graduate with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing in the spring.<\/p>\n
Binghamton University will distribute $2.5 million to 1,900\u00a0scholarship, fellowship, assistantship and research grant recipients this fiscal\u00a0year. This aid makes a significant difference in students\u2019 lives and on the\u00a0commitment to growing Binghamton University into the premier public university.<\/p>\n
