The Black Cat Gallery invites you to visit on Friday, Dec. 5, for \u201cLights of the River\u201d festivities and shopping, and artists\u2019 demonstrations and letters to Santa.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrating the art of needle felting this Friday night, is the Black Cat artist for December, Donna Townsend.<\/p>\n<p>Townsend likes the feel, color, and moods of textiles, with wool being her favorite. Townsend enjoys the ease of crochet and knitting, which can be done almost anywhere, making traveling and waiting in line more enjoyable. She also does needle felting, taking wool roving and using a barbed needle to sculpt the wool into fabulous creations. Come see Townsend\u2019s felted Santas and snowmen and watch her demonstrate needle felting during \u201cLights on the River\u201d at the Black Cat Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLetters to Santa\u201d can be written and posted at the Black Cat Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>Warm up in the Black Cat and do a little shopping while you wait for the best fireworks ever.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Cat Gallery supports the fine arts and crafts of more than 40 local and regional artists and is located on Front Street in Owego.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The holidays are upon us!
