The unofficial election results for Tioga County New York\u2019s General election arrived late on Tuesday evening, Nov. 4, with 100 percent of the precincts reporting.<\/p>\n

In the Governor\u2019s race, incumbent Governor Cuomo (D) and Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul received 36.76 percent of the votes, or 4,743 votes, in Tioga County; with Rob Astorino and Chris Moss receiving 56.91 percent of the votes, or 7,343 votes cast in Tioga County \u2013 although Cuomo was determined the winner, statewide, by the Associated Press earlier that evening.<\/p>\n

Also in Tioga County, N.Y.\u00a0the vote for Comptroller, Robert Antonacci (REP, CON), earned 6,808 votes to Thomas DiNapoli (D), who earned 5,000 votes \u2013 while statewide, DiNapoli is being projected the winner.<\/p>\n

For attorney General, Eric Schneiderman (D) earned 4,087 votes in Tioga County and John Cahill (R,C), earned 7,981 votes in Tioga County \u2013 while statewide, Eric Schneiderman has been projected the winner.<\/p>\n

\"Unofficial<\/a>

Senator Tom Libous (R-52), is surrounded by friends and colleagues at a GOP Victory celebration held at the Holiday Inn in Binghamton, N.Y. Tuesday evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

Representative Richard Hanna (R,I), retained his seat in the 22nd district in an uncontested race.<\/p>\n

In the 23rd Congressional District, incumbent Thomas Reed II (R,C,I) earned 6,325 votes in Tioga County, and 3,140 votes were received by Martha Robertson (D).<\/p>\n

In the State Senate race for the 52nd District, Tom Libous (R,C,I), earned 8,871 votes in Tioga County to Anndrea Starzak (D), who earned 3,845 votes. Libous\u2019 fight with cancer and legal allegations\u00a0did not appear to have an impact on his wide-ranging lead in Tioga County. District wide, Libous earned reelection with 28,139 votes, and Starzak coming in with 19,552 votes and\u00a0209 votes going to a Write-in.<\/p>\n

Assemblyman Christopher Friend, and Coroner Stu Bennett retained their positions in an uncontested race; while\u00a0other political seats, countywide were uncontested.<\/p>\n

In the County Legislative race, Michael Roberts (R), who represents District 3, ran uncontested for the 3-year term; Dale Weston (R), representing District 6, ran uncontested for the 3-year term; and Eddie Hollenbeck (R) and William Standinger III (R), both representing District 7, both ran for the 3-year term; with both elected to represent District 7.<\/p>\n

In Newark Valley, N.Y. a vacant, 1-year expired Town Councilman position\u00a0relied on a write-in votes, as no one registered for this seat. According to the Board of elections, write-ins for this position were received but are sealed with the results to be revealed sometime over the next week.<\/p>\n

If a write-in is selected, and does not want the seat, Toombs added, then the person winning the race would decline to take the Oath of Office and the Town could then appoint someone until Petitions are carried in the summer of 2015.<\/p>\n

In Nichols, N.Y., Town Councilman Esther Woods (R), ran for an unexpired 1-year term as well as Charles Quick (R), who ran uncontested on the ballot for another 4-year term as Town Justice.<\/p>\n

In Richford, Velvet Lyke (R) ran for a 1-year unexpired term as Town Clerk, and Peggy Andersen (D), ran for a 4-year term as Town Justice.<\/p>\n

In Spencer, Ronald Koski Jr. (R) ran for a 1-year unexpired term as Town Councilman.<\/p>\n

Regarding propositions, an amendment to revising the State\u2019s Redistricting Procedure was approved in Tioga County with 6,088 Yes votes, and 4,135 No votes.<\/p>\n

Proposition two, an amendment to Permitting Electronic Distribution of State legislative Bills, was approved was approved in Tioga County with 8,235 Yes votes, to 2,220 No votes.<\/p>\n

Proposition three, a proposition Smart School Bond Act of 2014, narrowly passed in Tioga County with 5,722 Yes votes to 4,872 No votes.<\/p>\n
