On Oct. 25, the second annual Zombie Fest took place in downtown Owego, N.Y. and attracted hundreds for a day filled with pumpkin making, face painting, live music, creative costumes, a spooky tent for adults, live entertainment delivered from the Tioga County Fair Board stage, live dance routines, and a Zombie Walk through downtown Owego led by a golf cart donated by Chris Kuhlman of Tioga Gardens and driven by horror film actor Tim \u201cCrow\u201d O\u2019Hearn and Heather Black, hosts to Music, Movies and Mayhem aired on Philly Rock Radio.<\/p>\n

The event was held at Owego\u2019s Parkview Hotel and Restaurant and Draper Park, and was sponsored by Tioga Downs and Tioga State Bank. The event also received support from the Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center, Tioga Artistic Dance Studio (TADA), Tioga United Way, the Tioga Arts Council, the Historic Owego Marketplace, the Owego Fire Police, the Village of Owego, the Binghamton Paranormal Investigative Research Society, and countless volunteers who assisted with setting up and planning for the event.<\/p>\n

Kicked off with a \u201cMake and Take\u201d at Draper Park, manned by the Owego Gymnastics and Tioga United Way, the venue soon filled up with young Zombies who were ready to begin the Halloween season.<\/p>\n

Soon, Wreckless Marci, who was a favorite among guests, took the stage and even invited children to participate with them for one of their songs.<\/p>\n

Following their energetic performance, TADA offered a performance of \u201cCalling All Monsters\u201d and Michael Jackson\u2019s \u201cThriller\u201d. The dancers were entertaining, and offered an excellent performance for guests.<\/p>\n

Following the dance routine, Tim \u201cCrow\u201d O\u2019Hearn and Heather Black joined the Owego Gymnastics to take a \u201cZombie Walk\u201d around the streets of downtown Owego, with traffic controlled by Owego\u2019s Fire Police.<\/p>\n

Upon their return, Highline, and then the Recycled Zombies, who recently acquired new members, entertained guests.<\/p>\n

The Recycled Zombies, like Wreckless Marci, invited all Zombies to join them while they rocked out to \u201cAbercrombie Zombie\u201d, a favorite among the horde. Sound for the entertainment was provided by Mark Bennett of Shark Audio.<\/p>\n

The event was enjoyed by all, and the organizers will be donating remaining proceeds acquired through raffled items and refreshments to participating non-profits involved in the event.<\/p>\n

Donating to the raffle was Tender Loving Care by Maureen\u2019s, located on Lake Street in Owego; Turkey Trot Acres, located on Tubbs Hill Road in Candor; the Owego Parkview Hotel and Restaurant; and the Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center located on Route 38 in Owego.<\/p>\n
