Tioga County\u2019s history and culture is made up of the stories of its residents and visitors.\u00a0In this fun and inspiring workshop, you will begin the process of organizing your memories and transforming them into entertaining and illuminating vignettes that capture life in Tioga County.<\/p>\n
Memoirs focus on keenly felt hours and minutes, times when we are most alive, and significant occasions; and they make one of the greatest gifts you can pass on to your family and community.<\/p>\n
Come to the Tioga County Historical Society (TCHS) as they host Dr. Jennifer Case on Saturday, Sept. 20, from\u00a010 a.m. to noon\u00a0as she leads the workshop at the museum.<\/p>\n
Open to adults of all skill levels, this special, one-day workshop will help writers develop specific skills to tell their personal or family stories. Participants will leave the workshop able to transition their stories from memories to text, preserving their legacy for years to come.<\/p>\n
The workshop is free, but donations are requested. The Museum is located at 110 Front St. in Owego.<\/p>\n
Dr. Jennifer Case\u2019s poetry and prose have appeared in recent issues of\u00a0ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment,\u00a0English Journal,\u00a0Poet Lore,\u00a0Hawk & Handsaw,\u00a0and\u00a0Stone Canoe, which awarded her work the 2014 Allen and Nirelle Galson Prize in Fiction. She teaches writing at Binghamton University\u00a0and serves as the Assistant Nonfiction Editor at\u00a0Terrain.org.<\/p>\n
