As we celebrate our country\u2019s 250th anniversary, let us be mindful that this country was initially blessed by God at its birth.<\/p>\n
Even on our coins, \u201cIn God We Trust.\u201d<\/p>\n
Our pledge to the American flag, \u201cOne nation under God.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Puritans came to America to seek religious freedom. The pilgrims, on the Mayflower Compact, bonded together under God\u2019s deliverance.<\/p>\n
Even George Washington, known as \u201cfirst in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen,\u201d was observed praying on his knees in the forest by Isaac Potts, a loyal British Tory. He went home and told his wife how intense his prayer was. She declared, \u201cThe cause of God to deliver America by the colonies will be realized.\u201d <\/p>\n
Washington demanded strict Christian principles from his soldiers. He even served communion with his officers, saying, \u201cThis bread and this cup are symbols of Christ\u2019s broken body and blood; do this in memory of me.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
