John and Stephanie Whitmore, owners of The Cellar Restaurant and the Pumpelly Estate Bed and Breakfast, both located on Front Street in historic downtown Owego, spent the last year beautifying several properties in Owego and continue to extend their generosity through their contributions to the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stephanie, who worked for three years in the auction operation at Bostwick Auctions, and John, who works with large-scale solar and wind projects, decided to plant seeds in Owego, N.Y., and continue to integrate themselves and support various events, including the 43rd Annual Strawberry Festival, planned for June 20 and 21 in downtown Owego.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe love the community,\u201d said Stephanie, adding, \u201cWe have received overwhelming support, so we are paying it forward.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the second year that the Whitmores have sponsored the fireworks display, a highlight of Friday\u2019s Block Party. The fireworks will ignite the sky over the river near Draper Park, concluding the evening\u2019s festivities.<\/span><\/p>\n
