{"id":102409,"date":"2024-07-21T08:29:19","date_gmt":"2024-07-21T12:29:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/?p=102409"},"modified":"2024-07-21T08:29:19","modified_gmt":"2024-07-21T12:29:19","slug":"owego-diver-kaelyn-katchuk-earns-second-all-american-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/2024\/07\/21\/owego-diver-kaelyn-katchuk-earns-second-all-american-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Owego Diver Kaelyn Katchuk earns second All-American Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The National Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (NISCA) has awarded Owego standout diver Kaelyn Katchuk her second \u201cAll-American\u201d award for the 2023 season.&nbsp;The top high school divers in the United States were selected by a panel of coaches from across the country for the annual 1-meter \u201cAll-American Award\u201d.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Katchuk became the first athlete in Owego Free Academy\u2019s history to earn two All American awards in any sport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the 2023 fall season, Katchuk extended her unbeaten Duel Meet record to 31-0 going back to October of 2019. Since the 2022 season, Katchuk has established six new dive pool records at seven area schools including Chenango Forks, Susquehanna Valley, Watkins Glen, Windsor, Waverly, Norwich, and Owego.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For 2023, In Section 4 Invitational competitions, Kaelyn won the \u201cOwego Diving Invitational\u201d, setting a new meet record; and the \u201cThe Watkins Glen Dive Invitational\u201d, setting the pool and championship record. She also traveled to Webster High School in Rochester for the \u201cLady Yeti Invitational\u201d to face Section 5 powerhouse divers, and won for the second year in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_102411\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2024\/07\/Diving2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102411\" class=\"size-full wp-image-102411\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2024\/07\/Diving2.jpeg\" alt=\"Owego Diver Kaelyn Katchuk earns second All-American Award\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2024\/07\/Diving2.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/owego\/files\/2024\/07\/Diving2-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-102411\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Owego Diver Kaelyn Katchuk, pictured, earned the second All-American Award by the National Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Coaches Association, as well as an impressive seasonal record. Provided photos.<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kaelyn won her fourth consecutive Section 4 class \u201cB\u201d Diving Championship this year while establishing a new Section 4 \u201cB\u201d championship record.
