On Feb. 23, Michael Crandall, age 36, was charged with one count of Murder, 2nd Degree; and three counts of Criminal Contempt, 2nd Degree in connection with a domestic incident that occurred on Feb. 19, 2024 in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Apalachin, N.Y.<\/p>\n

It was the early morning hours of Feb. 19, approximately 3:57 a.m., when the New York State Police responded to a domestic related dispute at 10 Debra Lee Dr. in Apalachin, Tioga County.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, and according to police, troopers and EMS personnel provided lifesaving treatment to an injured male, later identified as Michael Crandall, and a female at the scene who died as a result of injuries sustained during the domestic dispute.<\/p>\n

Michael Crandall was transported to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, and upon his release on Friday was charged with murder and criminal contempt. An arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 23 as well, but further information is not being released at this time.<\/p>\n

The police noted that the incident remains under investigation, and that further details would be released as appropriate, pending further criminal court actions.<\/p>\n
