OWEGO — R&C Auto Repair, LLC, and located at 2100 State Rte. 17C in Owego, N.Y., is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Owners Russ and Cynthia Cornwell are pleased that their auto repair business has continued to thrive. They look forward to serving their customers for more years to come, along with welcoming the second generation of customers to their facility.
Looking back, R&C Auto Repair had leased their former Glenmary Drive location for two decades prior to relocating to their brand new Route 17C building in 2017. With the support of various Tioga County agencies at the time, the Cornwell’s business site became a reality.
R&C Auto Repair has since become a go-to for a wide range of customers, from the NYS DOT to Lockheed Martin employees, as well as all of their customers who followed them from their Glenmary Drive location. In addition, the Cornwell’s have welcomed many new customers.
With other Mom-and-Pop type repair shops fading out over the years, the Cornwell’s have seen an increase in their business.

The couple shared, “We deliver honest work, and we build trust with our customers, and want to build relationships,” adding, “And we are happy to see our business triple over the past few years.”
With that in mind, Russ and Cynthia have been searching for the right match to bring another mechanic on board. The prospects for qualified candidates have recently been more positive, and they hope to fill a position soon.

R&C Auto Repair offers N.Y.S. inspections, oil changes, major and minor engine repairs, electrical repair, brake service, tires, computer diagnostics, drive-train diagnostic and repair, along with steering and suspension, to name a few.
Always in tune with their processes inside the shop, the Cornwell’s have made several improvements over the years. They recently demonstrated a wheel lifter that they use to assist them with lifting the heaviest of tires, and which, in turn, increases productivity and helps prevent injuries in the long run.
R&C Auto Repair procures parts from various sources, and is also a member of the NAPA Auto Care nationwide network program for independent repair shops. NAPA’s program provides businesses with several positive elements, and offers customers a Peace of Mind Warranty
of two-year/24,000 mile on parts. Cynthia noted, “That peace of mind is nice to have, and especially when you’re traveling.”
R&C Auto Repair is conveniently located across the road from Tioga Gardens, and one-quarter mile from the entrance to Lockheed Martin.
