To the guy who wants the Timex watch. There is a watch store on Old Vestal Road. He only has the battery ones. I called him, he suggested you try the internet for Timex wind up watches. He said that is your best bet. Also, try the antique store in Owego, where Newberry’s was. They may also be able to help you.

Marvin Park, also known as the fairgrounds, is in a flood zone. It floods every time we get high water. Why would you zone that to business? You can’t build anything in a flood zone that would amount to anything for business. Leave it alone.

Does everyone know that legislators in Albany just voted to sell and lease our state forests to solar panel companies? So now they will be cutting down our trees—the part of nature that removes CO2 from the air and, in turn, produces the oxygen we breathe—to put up solar panels that send toxic runoff into our land. These state forests will include our very own Oakley Corners and Tracy Creek forests.

To the person who claims that Owego is a dying area: yes, businesses are leaving. Look at Tractor Supply Company; now there is a water problem. No one thought about that prior to building it there? Every business has to go through a great deal of red tape, and we’re in the middle of Binghamton and Elmira, so where would you put your business?

To the person looking for the wind-up Timex: try eBay! You can buy with confidence – every seller has genuine customer ratings. Sometimes there is a “make an offer” option, and you can end up with a significant discount. I have found that highly rated sellers have excellent communication and fast shipping. Also, you could give “The Watch Shoo” on the Old Vestal Road a call.

I just read in this week’s Courier that Candor Highway Department Superintendent is buying more equipment and doesn’t have enough money in his budget to spend. Quote from the Courier: “Whatley talked with the board about the need for four pieces of equipment, and if purchased, this will push his equipment budget over by about $796.” This is early in the year to be going over budget. He was voted in to be responsible for the Town of Candor taxpayers’ interests. This is not responsible spending. Everyone has to tighten their belts the way the economy is.

When is that water company going to quit making excuses and get around and come up with a solid plan, which they probably already have, to hook water up to the new Tractor Supply store? Obviously they don’t care whether it’s open or not and the public does, and a lot of people have said that they want it open. So quit making excuses! Quit pulling this crap that you need to do all these studies. Hook the water up and get the store open before August because people want it. They don’t care what you think.

So Roger Wang was picked up at customs and immigration office where he went to get his green card that he’s worked on since 2012. He’s followed all the rules, but they picked him up and sent him to the Batavia, where he’s been since last summer. There is nothing Rogers has done in this country other than be a Christian and kind. He will be leaving and sent to Louisiana. He will be deported back to China on Tuesday of this week. And yet, look at the people we have at the White House. Every one of them should be deported. Disgusting!

What does Trump want with Cuba? He already has plans for resorts in Vietnam and Gaza. Hope they do better than his Atlantic City resort.

Trump is a petty, schoolyard bully grabbing all the toys for himself. This includes ruining our White House for his hoggish ballroom and his attempt at taking Ukraine’s resources, Greenland, Venezuela, Gaza’s strip, Iran, and now Cuba. He is not just a schoolyard hog, he’s a dangerous schoolyard hog with deadly weapons. And Langworthy is siding with him, trying to look cool as others get beaten up.

It shows that the current U.S. Senators and U.S. House of Representatives cannot work together to move the country forward. Now is the time to vote them all out of office. The American people need to send a shockwave through Washington and vote them all out of office. No matter how good you believe your Senator or Representative is, it is time to send them all packing!

I’m sure these last few weeks many have increasingly found we were “sold a bill of goods” during the 2024 presidential campaign. More and more loopholes and (very) fine print have come to light. Buyers remorse. Such a shame (and sham).

Iran’s leaders have been bullying the world for years! Along with its splinter groups’ henchmen (Isis, Hamas, and Hezbollah), they have murdered MANY innocent people. And they will continue to do so until the world stops them!

Hello America, it appears that a left wing intellectual is claiming that Mama Gump is spewing right wing lies; quite the opposite. Everything I have read is spot on and well researched. I do agree that she is quite funny and has pulled your chain.

Trump’s mother never taught him that “two wrongs don’t make a right,” a phrase I heard almost daily.

Trump recently voted by mail! Yes he did, for a Florida State House of Representatives’ Special Election, even though he wants to limit our ability to vote by mail with his Safe Act. In what was a Republican district and the location of Trump’s multi-million dollar Mar-a-Lago estate, a Democrat won! And she’s female. Take that, Trump.

In the latest Epstein file released, Donald Trump’s name was mentioned saying he was accused of rape by a woman in the Epstein files. It’s official, and I know she was urged to go to the police by the limo driver, and you know she told the police or the limo driver she didn’t dare because they would have her killed. Do you know what happened? A couple of months or years later they found her head blown off in Oklahoma. This is a proven fact.

I’m not sure what all the hype is over the CSA workers not getting paid right now because of the government shutdown. I don’t know if most people know, these people don’t go to work and still get paid once it’s resolved, they get back pay. I think these people that don’t go to work or show up shouldn’t get any of that pay. The ones that show up should get the pay.

Does anybody notice the hypocrisy of Trump invading another country because they are killing protestors? Yet he has no integrity to realize that the same exact thing is happening here in America with the ICE agents who should be trained and identified in all of the other requirements like all law enforcement. To think about it, the hypocrisy he allows his domestic terrorists known as ICE to kill people in the streets, abuse, and brutalize. But yet, he’ll invade another country for doing the same thing. Doesn’t sound right to me.

I am not the only one completely sick of Mamma Gump. I go by the Sidewalk Prophet, who actually does feet work for the Lord. It’s Easter season, but Christ is always in season. Easter is every bit as holy as Christmas, but only by being nailed to a tree after being beaten and tortured and mocked, where we’re given the opportunity for redemption through his Grace and mercy. Call your letters to this paper, believers, and see how many they dare print, if they can make room by not bringing a Gump or Trump letter. Amen.
