Broome County man arrested twice in one week

New York State Police reported on Feb. 12 that Christian R. Wilson, age 23 of Endicott, was arrested twice over the course of a few days. Wilson was arrested on Feb. 4, 2020 in Cortland County, and then on Feb. 11, 2020 in Tioga County, according to police.

On Feb. 4, 2020 at approximately 6:45 p.m., New York State Police at Marathon arrested Wilson for the felony of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree.

A trooper was dispatched to a report of a suspicious person on Webb Road in the town of Willet. A complainant called 911 after a man wearing nothing but black plastic garbage bags entered the complainant’s home but ultimately left the area.

The trooper also located an abandoned vehicle in the ditch off Webb Road. The trooper ultimately located Wilson behind a residence in a wooded area on State Route 41 in Willet, where he was taken into custody.

A further investigation revealed that the vehicle that Wilson had crashed was reported stolen from Broome County. Wilson was transported to State Police in Homer where EMT’s evaluated him. Wilson was then transported to Cortland County Central Arraignment and Processing where he was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

On Feb. 11, 2020, at approximately 12:12 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Wilson for the misdemeanor of Criminal Trespass in the second degree. Troopers and Tioga County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Coryell Road in the town of Nichols after a resident pulled up to their home and observed a man that did not belong there.

When troopers and deputies arrived, the man was being detained by a witness that arrived on the scene just moments prior.

An investigation revealed that Wilson entered the unlocked residence but did not take anything. He did, however, leave his shoes, a baseball cap and a poncho in the home before being confronted by the witness.

Wilson was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Nichols court on Feb. 20, 2020.
