Rash of bicycle thefts in Owego prompts police action

The Owego Police Department would like to alert the community to several bicycle thefts that occurred recently. In order to help them solve these larcenies, they want to remind everyone to register their bicycles (and any that Santa might be bringing).

Bring your bicycle to the Owego Police Department, located at 90 Temple St. in Owego, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will take down information like bicycle make and model, color, distinctive markings and serial number and issue a registration sticker. This will help them identify the owner of bicycles they come in contact with.

For more information, you can call the Owego Police Department at (607) 687-2234.
