The Historic Owego Marketplace (HOM) will once again present their Holiday Showcase on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This annual event has become the premiere shopping and dining day for Owego Merchants.

Adults and children will enjoy a variety of exciting activities taking place throughout downtown Owego to include a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will arrive by horse drawn carriage at 11:30 a.m. You can find them traveling down Front Street, followed by photo opportunities with Santa, provided courtesy of HOM and the Floyd Hooker Foundation. Photographs with Santa will take place at the Elks Lodge, located at 223 Front St. in Owego.

Guests will also enjoy horse and carriage rides, caricature drawings, carolers, and Christmas displays around town. Adults and children alike will enjoy being entertained by Will Stafford, juggler, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Joining Will at 11 a.m. on Lake Street are Owego Free Academy student musicians that will perform a variety of holiday music until noon.

In addition to these planned events, local merchants are the highlight of the day. There will be musical entertainment, tastings, and holiday discounts available for guests throughout the day.

For a complete list of activities, and to learn more about HOM and how they contribute to the local community, visit Owego.org. Schedules and brochures will be available at all downtown merchant locations beginning Wednesday Nov. 6.
