Halloween Harvest Party at the Boys and Girls Club in Owego

Danielle Duffek, executive director of the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club (TCBGC), is excited to share a beloved local tradition with families in the area, the Annual Halloween Harvest Party, planned for Thursday at the club.

Her favorite part is “seeing how excited the kids get about their costumes and their candy!”

Duffek is new to the Executive Director position, but not to Club celebrations. Duffek has long been a supporter of the TCBGC, and has attended events such as the Halloween Harvest Party for several years. She believes this event provides families with a safe, child friendly opportunity to have fun.

New to the party this year is the “Field of Treats,” a fresh take on the traditional Trunk or Treat idea. The party runs from 3 to 7 p.m., with the Field of Treats taking place in the final two hours, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Community members will park in the Club parking lot and be lead to the field to take part. If you would like to hand out candy, just bring a lawn chair and candy! Inside the Club, local entertainer D.J. Thaddeus will be providing music, and there will be games, snacks and prizes.

Duffek and her staff hope to see everyone there. The Club is also accepting donations of candy to hand out to kids who attend. If you would like to donate candy, bring your donations to the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club located at 201 Erie St. in Owego.
